Happy 3rd Birthday Dani Jade!

Yep, we can hardly believe it, but today is our daughter's 3rd birthday. As a reminder, we will never know the exact date Dani was born, however; the significance of the orphanage giving her a birthdate of September 14 is that our youngest son, Dylan was born on August 14th and our oldest son, Dustin was born on October 14th. Dani's birthday being given on September 14th completes the chain, just as she completes our family. I feel so blessed to not only have her in our lives but to be able to be home with her everyday and enjoy every moment.

Tonight will be a small, family celebration followed by a dinner party on Sunday with all of our family. Dani is SO excited that her birthday is finally here. She now understands that with birthdays comes presents and cake and has been saying "my birthday next" ever since Dylan's birthday in August.

The video below was her birthday morning present. She is a little subdued as she just woke up, but needless to say, she has not left the Dora tent at all this morning!

Giving the GoPro a Shot!

As promised, below is some video footage of Chris and Dylan boogie boarding last week in PB. The waves were pretty big, hence the yelling! Disclaimer: this is VERY amateur video . . .they are still learning how to best use the video camera. Enjoy!

So Long Summer

Well, it is the "unofficial" end of summer for the Bagalini Family, as the boys returned to school today. I can hardly believe it but Dustin is in his Senior year of high school. Where does the time go? To top things off, he will celebrate his 18th birthday next month. We are so proud of the young man he is and is becoming. While most kids have a fairly easy workload Senior year, Dustin has elected to take 3 AP classes with his only elective being ASB. He was elected Sports Commissioner this year, so hopefully he won't have as hectic of a schedule as he did last year as class Vice President. College applications are due October/November, so he will be busy with applications, essays, SATs and ACTs as well.

Dylan is now in the 7th grade and officially a teenager, having celebrated his 13th birthday last month. We see another young man in the making and are so proud of him as well. He has a keen interest in photography and bought a Go Pro video camera with his birthday money. I hope to post some of his amateur video footage soon as they are pretty hilarious!

As I am a stay-at-home Mom now, thank goodness I have Dani to keep me busy and not dwell on the fact that my boys are growing up and soon will not need their Mom as they do now. I am so very grateful and appreciative that I have the opportunity to stay home with Dani and be here for the boys 100%.

Summer 2011 was a great one for us. Both boys were able to surf almost every day, and we made multiple trips to the beach as a family. What a difference it made for everyone that I was home full time this summer. In addition to our beach trips Dylan's competitive lacrosse team traveled to Sonoma, CA for a tournament. While the team didn't fair well in the tourney, they boys had a blast and Dani, Chris and I were able to explore Sonoma and San Francisco in between games (OK, we missed one game, but Dylan didn't notice). It was a great road trip!

August also kicked off our 3 month consecutive birthday celebrations. Dylan and a group of boys went paint balling and then had a sleep over in our trailer. Needless to say, they did not go to sleep until about 5am! Dani's birthday is next and as we did last year, we will celebrate with a small, family only dinner party. Dani continues to grow, and amaze us with her bright, happy, crazy personality. She is speaking in full sentences now and continues to improve her speech through twice weekly therapy sessions. You know she is making progress when it is not only us that can understand her.

Below are a few pics from some of our summer adventures. Enjoy!
